Crawling out a five day migraine hole

One time in grade 2 I drew a really cool giraffe. And then other kids asked for their own, so I drew everyone big crayon giraffes.

Fast forward a few decades and here we are. Thanks, Crayola.

Crawling out a five day migraine hole

I've never been able to comprehend how @himmapaan.bsky.social manages such beautifully charming microscopic details. They are clearly an art god of some kind.
Anchiornis. Detail from a drawing from 2019.

A new paper by Kiat et al indicates that Anchiornis probably couldn't fly.

(But I still think it might have been capable of 'falling with style'.)

A few more throwback sculptures to wrap up the series.

Sushi — Heron with removable fish.

Floe — Fishing bear. She sits on this bright green stone I was unable to carve, it would just shatter. Made for a cool ice floe though. (1/2)

Gesturing at this so hard. It's a lot to prepare for when you're running your own business, but it can be done. You got this.

The best way I save money is I ask all my friends and family to save me their bubble mailers and bubble wrap. Packaging is expensive and I try to recycle as much as I can.
GST, income tax, the actual cost to produce the product, Shopify fees, AfterPay fees if you use AfterPay, packaging costs, advertising costs, etc. It’s a lot.
When you go to buy from an individual creator this season please remember the price at checkout (in person or online) is not what they will see reflected in their account

Fees, immediate taxes, and future taxes cut what they would make often in half

We price for that, so please be understanding!

After many years of coveting, I finally got my anatomy model

Another carving throwback. This is my 10lb black stone bear, my very favourite sculpture to date.

He took 16+ hours to carve, taught me that black soapstone is crazy tough, and comes with a little removable salmon in the jaws.

He currently lives in my personal collection.

A few years ago when I was strapped for work, I sold most of my stone sculptures. This one was spoken for, but the buyer backed out. So happy they did, because this rocking otter is still one of my favourite sculptures to date.

It's been taken down, but this sort of thing boils my blood.

My family wonders why I'm so loud about genAI, because they find it cute. GenAI feeds on the IP of real, hardworking artists in order to produce mass amounts of crap.

Glad the thing was suspended at least. Keep being loud, folks.
The freaking nerve. I don’t want to advertise them but they have other projects that they probably stole too

Idk if you can report it too or find them but god knows I really crave violence rn

People seem to like my little stone sculptures, so I'll share a few more.

This one was carved for a friend of mine. He likes to share stories about his pet crows from the 60's and 70's.

Stone fox for my bff. Working on some smaller baby foxes to go with it.

Chose this stone since it promised to have some red in it, and it did not disappoint. I am so happy with that red streak.
