Renson sale, 1924, lot 58-59: Fritz Thaulow (1847-1906), "Rio in Venice" (3800Fr, 38*46cm) and "The Bridge" (1500Fr, 22*27). No images. As these are typical subjects for him, it is not possible to identify them with any certainty.

Wanted to go back to my roots and post some interesting auction items here, but ended up bidding myself ;-) Meanwhile lost one book I thought I had the highest bid on, but was matched :-(, and have to wait for the result of a non-live, non-catalogued old book auction, bid (low) on these 4 separately

Daily image from my visit to the Museum Mayer van den Bergh: Master of the Sacristy of Kaufbeuren, "Coronation of the Virgin", c. 1490, 125*58cm. One side of a panel which was cut in two, and top end removed because of damage :-( Glorious example of the typical German works of the period.

Renson sale, 1924, lot 53: Auguste Renoir (1841-1919), "Young girl with flowers at her ear" (48000Fr), 43*35 cm. The most expensive lot by far. Dating to 1898, the painting is now in a private collection. art-renoir.com/artworks_ren...
