I think what people tend to miss is that what matters is the final result with the means we have. It was admittedly a hard lesson for me to learn as well, because everything can be better.

Arguably Yoji Shinkawa gets away with A LOT but he's given trust and a team of capable concept designers.

It is my personal opinion that more "polished" aspirational illustrations should be made after we've nailed some things down in design

But entertainment is plagued with "we can't see this unless it looks final" - LIKE COME THE FUCK ON THIS ISN'T HOLLYWOOD

I've definitely seen that happen more than a couple times, no one seems to understand that design and illustration are two separate things, and building a pipeline around what can be done is also another thing entirely.
