when i see them sending us a team that is all male except one woman who gets into the team because of our dei demands i pre-book her for working on issues that fall into my areas.

she is *always* about twice as good as the men in the group. no exceptions. i have never lost on that gamble.

i work in it in norway. the companies i have worked with have had dei rules when some vendor sends a group of consultants to work with us.

finnes det "noen få viktige setninger" i faglitteratur? hele vitsen med å spesialisere seg, uansett fag, er å være god nok til å se viktigheten i all teksten. Det er jo det som skiller en faktisk ekspert fra "readers digest as a service"

one big problem is when people are really good at a few pieces of the tech stack and sell themselves in to management as experts when there are crucial bits of real enterprise configurations they do not understand at all.

my daughter has been using store bought habaneros for years. they do taste, and you do feel them. but... not what i expected out of habaneros from all the hype. then enter this little bush in a window sill. home grown habaneros. wow. the difference is actually incredible.

how come ai is so 100% correct when answering questions about topics i don't know, but misses at least 40% of the time on topics where i am an expert?
