I don’t think this is a solution, nor is it possible. Not only are there red states and blue states, but even within blue states, the vast majority of land-holding people are red voters. They’ll want the “divorce” in each state too, leaving us stranded on islands of blue throughout the country.

Yes, I’ve read the Snopes piece about it. However, several places indicate that Katie Johnson may have withdrawn her charges out of fear.
