I used to give the speech of "any adjustments to the scoring are based on the entire score distribution, so any help you give other classes hurts your grade."

I also had different versions for each class - swap a cos for a sin here, an exponential for a logarithmic there, etc.

My first year at my old school was the year they switched from pension to 401K. But the calendars were off, so I got ~4 months of pension contributions before the switch.

The last notice I got before they let me switch all my money over was that my pension would be $0.10/month when I turned 65.

I think Cignetti is pretty well enjoyed by fans around the country, but I'm think other coaches dislike him more.

On the other side of the coin, I think Ryan Day gets a lot of shit from fans, but other coaches largely like him

The kids would stash his classroom copies up there sometimes.

Other times, they'd put them in the back seat of the car of the aforementioned book returner, because his car was so old and busted the door locks didn't work.

They "friendly tortured" me (birthday celebrations, calling me "Dad", etc.)

About 4 months into my job here (QA Statistician, I get to be obnoxious with math), I went to my director with a "sorry to be a PITA about this, but..."

She cut me off at that point and said, "don't apologize for that, that's what we hired you to do."

My only real work enemy was the senior history teacher at my last spot (@paledragon.bsky.social can confirm ALL the kids hated him).

The guy would ask questions "from the reading" that were from the captions of pictures; he yelled at a student for returning textbooks that others took from his room

By the arena?

North Market has a bunch of food places, Hoyo's is my favorite Somali food in the city.

Elevator Brewery is right there, and has sauerkraut balls, top 3 in the city.

People will recommend Wolf's Ridge, but both the food and beer have steeply declined in quality in the last year.
