... the idea being that where it is shown that directors/shareholders engaged in fraudulent activities of conduct designed to deceive the public, limited liability could be set aside and recourse made directly to them.

Whilst I get the sentiment, I think you'd end up killing risk taking and entrepreneurship in the bargain.

Why would anyone ever take a punt or have go if they risk losing their homes ?

But there may be a way to make directors liable by looking at wrongful trading laws that are already there ....

Octopus are installing mine next week ..... and with that, the gas meter and associated standing charge goes.

They did my solar panels a couple of years ago and they've been wonderful. Energy bill of zero for 6m a year

Once the car has gone electric too (v. soon), it's going to be great.

The converse is equally true - money given out in benefits either ends up back in the wider economy or (partly) in the treasury as taxes (on fuel, VAT, profits, etc....)

Everyone should remember this next time any of MAGA choose to lecture the rest of us on freedoms, morality, decency ..... in fact anything.

But then again, their proteges in Israel didn't show any compunction to the thousands of children they killed there either.

Last I looked, accession to the EU didn't require a plebiscite of the entire population of the EU. But it does require all member states represented by their governments to agree. Whilst that may not be a foregone conclusion, I would like to think the EU will see the value we bring to the alliance.

When I consider the anger we feel in this country at the loss of relatively minor liberties and rights, just imagine how Palestinians must feel about the loss of their homes, their families, in fact anything we'd consider 'normal'

I think people are just relieved that the killing has stopped - at least for now.

The challenges facing the region however remain, and are enormous.

The powers that be are just coming at this incrementally - let's get 'a' done and then we'll worry about 'b'.
