since people are doing new intro posts here's another "random" sample of my current writing. I hope people pay as much attention to it as my Posts - you can read two ongoing novels (the first two samples) here andataexpress.neocities.org/holohaus

listen, centrist libs might not like it, but if the Demcorats get back to office and stack the court, they need to fill it with the most annoying 25yo non-binary polyamorous leftist grad students they can find. basically the left foil to the contemporary GOP groyper-staffer.

Schmittianism eats political philosophy in the same way poptimism eats aesthetic philosophy. trivially true but thought terminating, *before* the point demanded by power or pleasure

regardless of whether they were or happened in this particular case, which I'm not making a claim about.

I doubt he'd disagree, in fact I'd bet that's part of why he believes it's essential to maintain that the times these things happened in history were bad?

"we're done talking": warrior's dignity
"talking is pointless anyway": teenage edgelordism

know the difference!

you folks don't even know what a world where bottom surgery was just totally normalized would actually look like & who its most avid participants would be. you haven't met the amount of cis women who have been like "damn i wish i could experience what having both parts is like" unprompted

did you know the actual article describes an apolitical/transpolitical subculture of irony poisoned girls like everyone already knows exists among boys? the idea that it's specific to the left is a framing question that it answers in the negative but put in the headline bc it's all you'll talk about
davidpakman.bsky.social
The extreme left’s weird soft treatment of Nick Fuentes is a reminder that if you go far enough in either direction, you loop back around

this is just the leftwashing of American "temporarily embarrassed millionaire" ideology – "I can't be proletarian (or even lumpen) bc that's a structural position in even the most functional capitalist economy, it must be bc the economy is in a 2008-like state of exception caused by Greed"
whstancil.bsky.social
Like it’s absolutely surreal for me, listening to these bozos construct elaborate fantasies where people personally mocked them for feeling squeezed. This did not happen. No one did this. No one ever said that aggregate national economic data proved that every single person was doing great.

one of my crazy hunches, otoh, is that part of the actual measurable literacy crisis happening with younger people is so much of the baseline ambient exposure they learn language from being older literate people's "so you hate waffles" posting rather than standard coherent usage
danlehner.bsky.social
this is neither more pessimistic nor optimistic, but I actually think online is a bad way to judge actual reading comprehension because, IMO at least, the driving engine behind “so you hate waffles”-style tweeting is “in how bad of faith do you want to interpret what a person you dislike is saying”
garlicbuffalo.gobirds.biz
so one of the things I’ve started to realize with having a notable following On Here is exactly how much of a reading comprehension problem we have in this country

watching people try to argue against specific violent generalizations without feeling permitted to articulate a principle against violent generalization as such is tortuous

which is one of the standard things understood to happen in actual therapy, even for people who have been in it for years, so it shouldn't be that hard to imagine!
baroquespiral.bsky.social
the one work I've seen where characters use "therapyspeak" levels of deliberate introspection and self-bracketing almost all the time and it's both interesting as form & the *starting* point of sophisticated character drama is Mad Investor Chaos and the Woman of Asmodeus. make of that what you will.
baroquespiral.bsky.social
this is an interesting problem bc, whatever its problems (and I think a lot of those are essentially problems of poetics), therapyspeak is one arm of a moral revolution, a claim about a way we should think and behave, and if you can't tell good stories in a world where people use it that's a problem
rowan.monster
I'd really appreciate if writers these days took a look at their characters doing therapyspeak and whether that's appropriate for their work and their world.

By "therapyspeak" I mean speaking like this: "This is the emotion I'm feeling, and feeling that emotion makes me want to act in a way"
