Tennessee has a $1 billion budget surplus, so Governor Lee could do more than the nothing he's currently doing.

Roughly 700,000 people in Tennessee participate in SNAP, according to the USDA.

In a statement Friday, Gov. Bill Lee told Tennessee SNAP participants to expect a lapse in benefits. The statement from the governor's office said the state could not use its own funds to support the program because it does "not have a mechanism to load benefits onto customer cards."

Timmeshia Fleming is a mother of three in Nashville who has used SNAP benefits off and on for years. She said interruptions and delays mean money has to go to food instead of other bills. She told WPLN, it's especially harrowing when it comes without ample warning.

Will loved the scriptures. He had a master's degree in theology and started on his doctorate before he became too sick.

He talked often about the gospel and its global influence, especially on how modern society adopted the Judeo-Christian belief that every person has intrinsic value.

Two things:

(1) Employers don't hand out jobs just because you need one, especially in 2025.

(2) Many people receiving SNAP benefits are employed, which should be an indictment of their employers' low wages.

WILD story. A DHS officer shot at a man he thought was fleeing (a judge dismissed all charges). Bullets went into the driver's side window, through his jacket collar, and into the empty passenger seat. An MPD cop on the scene says he was ordered not to put it in the police report.

A D.C. task force shot at a driver. It’s not in the police report.

Neither D.C. police nor the Department of Homeland Security have explained why the Homeland Security agent fired his weapon.
