No issue with there being a London beer fest.
But brand it as a London beer fest, not at GBBF.

London should have a beer fest, and it could be a great one. Should be a great one.

It's easy to criticise, but pointless without offering alternatives.
So I've been giving this a lot of thought 🤣

Instead, I think that CAMRA would be better to support and promote the local and regional festivals.
Take the Campaign to the people instead of expecting them to shell out to go to the Campaign.

So yeah, I don't actually see the need for a GBBF when there's now good regionals.

But I don't think CAMRA need that anymore.
People are aware of there being a lot more beer, and people are aware of CAMRA.
And with so much beer variety available in most places, there's less need to travel across the country to a single beer festival to experience it.

One thing I didn't really go into in this (long) piece is that I don't actually think there's a need for GBBF anymore.

It's not really a beer festival, but a marketing campaign.
It's been to showcase great beer from all over the country, to promote CAMRA and why it exists.
