I’m enjoying the general Bluesky ballyhoo while at the same time feeling a struggle to keep up, especially with reciprocation of follows. If you’d like us to follow each other perhaps we should start with a conversation through posts? Or am I being presumptuous? Here for the fun of it, anyway. 🥰

Ever since I finished Question Time, Reform have massively been on the attack.

Including a rant from Richard Tice entirely designed to distract from Reform and Russia.

Everyone should know about Nathan Gill, the bribes from Russia and the link to Reform.

The Greens requested an interview on the Laura Kuenssberg Show with Zack Polanski when he was elected leader, but were denied, with a promise to interview him during Green conference instead.

This was then scrapped citing the Manchester synagogue attack. Polanski is both Jewish and from Manchester
BBC Laura Kuenssberg Show Accused of Anti-Green Bias After Cancelling Zack Polanski Interview
The new Green Party leader was the only major party leader not to have been granted a conference interview on the flagship BBC show

I’m at least enjoying the spectacle of the Tories hammering more nails into their own coffin.

Men in balaclavas set fire to a mosque in East Sussex last night. It's only appearing on the BBC's local coverage, rather than its main national headlines, despite coming just a week after the (also under-reported) firebombing of an asylum hotel in London last week

Peacehaven: Fire at East Sussex mosque probed as 'hate crime'
Video appears to show two people in balaclavas at the mosque before a large blaze spreads.

I’m so sad about what has happened to #CuriousCasesOn radio 4. Now I just rush to switch over each time it comes on, and it used to be sooo good. 😌

Nor is appearing on Women’s Hour and portraying this as a problem about women any help. ‘…the women’s safety sector…’ They don’t have a clue. This is a problem with CIS MEN. They are what needs fixing.

The point is the Met Police are absolute scum AND the people in charge of sorting it out are absolute scum. They don’t even understand what the problem is. No amount of woeful sighing on BBCR4 Woman’s Hour is going to fix that. Calling it ‘cancer’ is the problem, not the solution.

Years ago my bicycle was locked to a bike rack in front of Charing Cross Police Station and stolen. It was in plain sight of several of their CCTV cameras. I went in to report this, and asked if the footage could be used to figure out what happened. They laughed in my face and did fuck all. Vile.

Met Police are absolute scum. I really don’t need to watch a documentary to know that.

Sorry, a "hidden culture" of misogyny and racism in the Met police? Hidden?

Is there a reason I ask that the Times are using a picture of asylum seekers in a boat to describe rules for migrants who came on legal routes such as skilled worker visas for doctors?
thetimes.com
Tough new conditions to be imposed on migrants who want to settle in the UK will not apply to more than a million people who arrived in the UK under the post-Brexit immigration surge
Labour’s tough new rules will not apply to migrants already in UK

German media seems to be taking more seriously than ours the fact a leading light in the party UK press keeps saying will be next government took bribes from Russia to spout their lies. Maybe it’s because they put NEWS ahead of propaganda

I’m so bitterly disappointed with Starmer. We all hoped for so much for a new broom, yet what we have is a politician who lets himself be shaped by the lowest of the low, ie Johnson or Fartage. It’s so bleak.

Do we think if there was a cyber attack on the arts that the government would stump up two years-worth of Arts Council funding (ie £1.5 bn)?

🤔

The scenes on our streets are shameful consequences of decades of austerity - government after government fanning the flames of anti migration instead of tackling inequality.

We can & must make different choices. Solidarity to all communities under attack. We stand together.

Busy day for some showing their love of unity and respect for the kingdom by drinking strong lager and throwing bottles at the police.
