Spend enough time in a Vermont forest in the fall and it becomes apparent why New England is the home of Stephen King, Sleepy Hollow, and the Salem Witch Trials. Trees squeak and creak in the cold, strong winds. The trails are desolate, yet there is always a sense someone (or thing) is behind you.

The solution has gotta involve making fall tourism a less car and bus based activity. More events and more festivals, encourage sight seeing on our trail networks. Fewer people on roads doing no look 180 degree turns and fewer people driving 10 mph on dirt roads would go a long way

Back in the 90s when neo-nazi skinheads were everywhere, people wore colored laces in their Doc Martens to signify which side they were on. Red meant nazi, one black one white meant anti-racist, blue meant neutral, and green meant you like frogs and were anti-fascist. Been thinking about that a lot.
