Dystopia: Chapter 2 – Midwife, Aborted, Page 22.
In a dim sparsely furnished classroom with cracked walls and a single window letting in pale light. A young Angie sits alone at a small wooden desk, surrounded by a few worn crayons. On the desk lies a simple drawing: a smiling figure with purple clothing, standing among green trees and red flowers under a blue sky. Angie is coloring carefully, but their thoughts reveal frustration — the colors never look as true or vibrant as they do in real life.

A teacher, wearing a pale dress, stands nearby as the classroom door opens. Two men in matching blue suits and dark glasses enter. Their appearance is formal and detached, suggesting authority or surveillance. One of the men gestures toward Angie and asks the teacher, “Is this the one?” The teacher leans closer to examine Angie’s drawing, studies it for a moment, and then quietly replies, “Yes.”

The atmosphere shifts as one of the suited men raises a small communication device to his mouth and says, “Yes, the potential is secured.” The other man steps forward toward Angie’s desk, extending his hand in a gesture that is polite but firm. He says, “Won’t you come with me, please?” Angie looks up at him silently, her expression uncertain.

Angie strikes back in this week's webisode of the #supernatural #cyberpunk #webcomic Dystopia. Can the ophan be defeated? More #comics at dystopia.ink - we love #indiecomics !

Dystopia: Chapter 2 – Midwife, Aborted, Page 21. Angie a tribunal midwife wearing a light blue bodysuits and white battle mask, has reached the chamber housing the massive cylindrical “Ophan.” The midwife has eluded the "tender" and the "guard" who defend the structure. Angie has scaled the exterior of the ophan emerging atop its upper surface.

Angie emerges atop the ophan carrying the enormous arm torn from the armored guard that defends the powered structure. Grasping the guards arm tightly, Angie aims the high tech appendage and it's glowing amber energy blade at the conduit that connects the ophan to the network. They swing the weapon slicing through the massive mechanical conduit, sending sparks and molten fragments flying. The sound effect “SHRAKKK!” bursts across the panel, emphasizing the impact.

The midwife is knocked off balance as the ophan heaves, electrical energy crackles violently through the severed structure, lightning-like arcs spreading around the room. The ophan hums with growing power, accompanied by the booming sound “THRUMMM!” The ophan explodes in a burst of bright yellow, red, and orange energy - the blast throws Angie backwards as waves of energy spread outward.

Near the base of the ophan, the tender and guard are caught in the chaos, their bodies consumed by the fire and debris as the ophan erupts with destructive power, the machinery unravelling.

Dystopia: Chapter 2 – Midwife, Aborted, Page 20. Angie and 8244, Tribunal midwives in light blue bodysuits and white battle masks, reach the vast chamber housing the massive cylindrical “Ophan.” Defenders confront the midwives and an intense battle takes place.

The massive Ophan Guard in heavy tech-infused armor with a dimly visible face behind a visor, wielding amber energy blades from oversized gauntlets approaches Angie. From an internal readout, we can see communication and data streaming directly to Angie - the other midwife is showing no signs of life. The Ophan howls in the background. . Angie focuses on the limb that 8244 had torn from the guards body lying on the floor, energy blade glowing.

Angie dashes towards the guard sliding to pick up the arm as the guard swings with brutal force, its weapon shrieking SSSZZZINNGGG! Angie rises behind the guard and in the next instant, they leap onto the Ophan carrying the guards arm. Angie scales the side of the Ophan, surveying the battlefield with an over the shoulder glance.

Angie emerges atop the Ophan and heads toward the series of cables that connect to the machine and rise to the ceiling. The final panel lingers close, showing 8244's determined face as they focus on the cables and raise the guard's arm and energy blade above their shoulder.

From Dystopia: Chapter 2 – Midwife, Aborted, Page 19. Angie and 8244, Tribunal midwives in light blue bodysuits and white battle masks, reach the vast chamber housing the massive cylindrical “Ophan.” Defenders confront the midwives. This comic page shows an intense battle scene unfolding across six panels.

8244 has suffered a crushing blow that has shattered the lower portion of their mask and brought them to their knees. The Ophan Guard in heavy tech-infused armor with a dimly visible face behind a visor, wielding amber energy blades from oversized gauntlets stands over them. The Ophan howls in the background. In a close up, 8244 looks up at Angie… They are clearly hurt with blood streaking across their features, and they utter a single word, "O-PHAN!"

They rise to their feet and re-engage the guard as a "tender" carrying an energized weapon approaches from behind. Again, the Ophan howls in the background. The Tender lunges forward with the energy weapon making contact with 8244's head, streams of energy arc from the weapon to the metallic horn-like forms that sit atop the midwife's head. The force of the energy transfer knocks the battle mask from 8244's face and we can see them grimacing. As 8244 throws their head back and howls in pain, we can see the effect of the weapon. Bulging eyes roll back in reinforced sockets and flesh falls from their face exposing technical augmentations to 8244's skull.

Angie observes the aftermath of the battle and we can see their view in "battle mode" through a shaded screen and digital readouts that offer additional detail. The armored Guard stands triumphantly over 8244's crumpled and motionless body as the tender relaxes, a maniacal grin on their face.
