For #InternationalArtistsDay I wanted to share a recent commission, and it felt particularly apt to display this one which is the first to include my own artist mark, which the patron of this piece had encouraged me to develop.

I had the opportunity to visit another one of "my" towns. This time, it was Bernartice, whose #coatofarms and #flag I designed earlier this year. This small town holds a surprising story. The prominent feature in its coat of arms, an unfinished bridge, (1/6) #heraldry #vexillology

Happy International Vexillology Day 🎌

In the same spirit & theme as my post on International Heraldry Day, I thought it would be particularly appropriate to share my current thinking on how the Scottish Saltire would look had it been realised as a Japanese monshō 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇯🇵

This one was inspired by a folk tale from Yamagata prefecture, Japan. www.attaka-furusato.com/minwa/gb/yam...
Made this Mon for a friend’s birthday.
My society checked out an exhibition related to a Slovene gymnastics organisation in the National museum.
A lovely trip!
And lastly checked out the Mathias Corvinus church
Walked up to the Buda castle museum
Crossed the iron liberty bridge
The next day we checked out the Hungarian Parliament
The second was Budapest, capital of Hungary. Our first stop there was the National museum.
The first of those was a historic-cultural park in Zalavar, Zala County. This place was a melting pot of Slavic, Avar, Germanic and Hungarian ethnicities. Kocelj, a ruler in Frankish Lower Pannonia even hosted saints Cyril and Methodius.
🧵🚌🇭🇺 Our vexi and heraldry society recently visited a couple of places in Hungary.
