it's funny how it's almost always someone in the MSM complaining about probably one of bluesky's best features

corporate journalism won't save us
i wish the ship building was in any other game world. the cities were just so, so, so underwhelming and boring.
Dem donors would rather give Sinclair/FOX/CBS/etc hundreds of millions of dollars for TV and newspaper one time ad buys that barely anyone will remember or see, for that money to them be turned around and used against them immediately.
You can't teach an 80 year old senator new tricks
Dem donors don't want to fund left media out of a fear of being criticized by progressives, but are totally OK with spending hundreds of millions on ad buys with Sinclair/FOX/WAPO/CBS etc. Those guys certainly won't attack them.

liberal donors are more focused on the two year election cycle and donate tons of money to dumb election stuff instead of long term investment like media
In your view, is there a prevailing theory as to why liberals have no interest? It does not make sense and has not for a very long time.
And Sinclair/FOX/Wapo/CBS/NYT/etc. don't attack Dems?
The Kamala campaign itself, raised over 1 billion dollars. If your argument is that the Republicans dark money machine raised more money than the Democrats, which is certainly true, then that only makes it more critical that Dems should be spending their money wisely
your point is that this would require billionaire level funding. my point is that they already HAVE billionaire level funding, and use that money to fuel our opponents
the amount of money required to fund the type of activities I'm talking about are miniscule in comparison to the wasted TV ad buys. Ad buys that only serve to fund entities like Sinclair, who will only use that money to further attack us
you are literally funding conservatism for an expensive one time ad buy that most people probably will not even see
So why give those same crazy people more money to hit us over the head with?

Why give loads and loads of money to conservatives like Sinclair broadcasting, for expensive one time ad buys, rather than funding more inexpensive year long podcasters, influencers, and smaller media?
the dems already have billionaire-level funding, in fact they out spent republicans in 2024.

the problem is WHERE they spend their money. expensive one-time ad buys on TV vs. low cost investments of podcasters, influencers, independent media who are able to get the message out year long.
the point is that for their investments, republicans are getting their propaganda out to the public, while dems are not because they continue to commit too much money to outlets that have been bought out by billionaires like bezos & the ellisons, outlets that will never treat democrats fairly
The point is that Dems don't fund independent media on the same scale as Republicans, despite raising record amounts of money. You can see it here, where many left leaning writers are begging for subs and having to use a subscription/paywall model whereas the right gives out content for free
Dems could start by investing in their own advocacy media platforms rather than throwing money at right wing media in the hopes they will be nice to them.
Republican policy positions are less popular than Democratic ones. Most people don't want religious oligarchy and this makes Republicans have fewer small- and large-dollar donors.

So they stretch the money through advocacy media. Every piece of the Republican ecosystem reinforces each other.
Chainsaw Man movie was a lot more than I was expecting, I thought it was just going to be a few episodes strung together but it had excellent cinematography, storytelling, and a great soundtrack. 🕷️🕸️🦋
