The market cap of Volkswagen Group, a company that makes a lot of cars that don't blow up, and sold about 5x the number of cars Tesla did last year, is £50bn.

I used to read everything on ebook, but I've gone to maybe 50% physical mostly because I want my kid to see me reading a book rather than looking at a screen

I also really hate having something between my ear drums and the natural world when I'm on a run/hike, but bone conduction headphones have been a revelation for me.

Forget the range, Bluetooth doesn't penetrate water. You can get headphones that you load with audio files

I'm useless at Crawl though. Need to get some coaching I think

I'm the opposite. I have the headphones that you can load MP3's on to it, but it still annoys me that I cannot connect to my phone as I want to listen to audiobooks at 1.5x speed.

Swimming is just so boring though. I really have to be able to get myself into a flow state to stomach it.

That said, I've found it a bit too hulking to chuck in a weekend bag,

Playing indie games you've bought for a fiver in a steam sale anywhere you like > paying ninety quid for AAA graphical fidelity that you can only experience once the partner and kids have gone to bed.

If I was looking to do a week in Paris it would be different. Couple of days spent in the expensive spots, and then seek out cheaper areas for the rest of the week.
blizard.io
It's like a £20 bottle of shop bought wine v a £40 one. Can afford both, and the £40 wine is better, but it doesn't do enough to justify the price difference. I wouldn't consider Paris anymore for a weekend break, when there are other cities that are much cheaper and for 1-2 days are just as good.

Paris has been on my "fuck that, it's too expensive" list of city break destinations for quite a while.

Modest proposal:

BBC BRING BACK 'TOMORROW'S WORLD'.

Science, tech, environment reporting are woeful currently. Something that blasts excitement about what a golden age we're in of discovery (vaccines, computing, space exploration etc etc) but can also be a trojan horse for warnings on climate etc

Yes, something to with how much power USB C sockets can use compared to usb A
blizard.io
Ah interesting! Thank you
blizard.io
Is there some regulatory reason we're still installing USB-A sockets on new public infrastructure in the U.K.?

I think back to the Brexit Years, and I could have gone the same way.

Currently taxiing to the runway in Greece, so of course my brain decides this would be the best time to read about Helios Flight 522

It used to be if you were out of the country for 15 years, you would lose voting rights, but that was rescinded under Johnson

It was much more convenient in the old days because it was offering something you couldn't get, namely food from restaurants that didn't deliver. The value proposition has been hugely cheapened over the years though with dark kitchens and now this.

They're not shy about it either. Only a few physical restaurants, but you can order a delivery from a lot of places in the U.K.

Side point, I think it's fine to have policies that have marginal growth potential. 100 low risk policies that each individually add 0.1%, is probably better than 1 risky policy that adds 1%?
