yeah it's basically used as a synonym for stern, humorless, inflexible (a cousin is "Puritan"), and then you just attach a bunch more vibes to that and boom you get "Calvinism"

I wonder if it's the format of social media posts. A casual conversation understands that verbal statements don't cover everything. But there's a tone of "finality" or "ultimacy" that people read out of text-based social media that I struggle to articulate but it's a vibe I feel
