New from me: News Corp successfuly lobbied for the teen social media ban on the grounds of "protecting kids mental health".

Yet it has been bullying an 11-year-old child, exposing her to an audience of 400,000+ for ridicule and abuse.

It does this often. Other mainstream media outlets do too.
News Corp wants to 'protect' kids. It's also happy to bully them for its readers
Mainstream media outlets regularly bully primary-school aged children while pretending to care about youth mental health.

Imagine introducing laws to protect kids from how toxic social media is and... thanking News Corp for helping?

Every media outlet that uses social media as a distribution channel actively shapes the culture of those platforms.

These things are not separate.

I don't understand this point: is scaffolding mandatory in some places as a safety requirement?

In Australia I have seen plenty of rooftop solar installed but never requiring scaffolding
Agree - as taxpayers we have already paid for the records

Govt's & agencies seeking to impose FOI application fees & processing costs reflects a punitive mindset of seeking to deter requests for transparency

& those same agencies & govts will spend far far more on PR without blinking an eye #FOI
Thanks for taking the time to give evidence -- costs are a huge barrier for freelancers and small publishers

In Tas Right to Information applications are waived for MPs and journalists, with a public interest option available for others #auspol

Our latest data analysis shows nearly 1 million Ha of tree cover was lost across Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam in 2024.

Nearly a quarter of this was primary forest, but - more alarming - ~30% of tree cover losses occurred inside protected areas. Read the breakdown on @mongabay.com
