A full scale attack by Kremlin forces would result in substantial military operations on Russian & Belarusian territory. This is poorly understood by Russian war planners. NATO isnt Ukraine. Kremlin forces have little chance of stopping NATO forces short of using nuclear weapons, a no win scenario.

Even as foolishly as Trump has behaved previously he still maintains a positive role in pressuring Putin to suspend offensive military operations. A ceasefire is badly needed, particularly for a Kremlin that is running out of cash and equipment faster than it is being replaced.
