Our parks & open spaces volunteering figures for April 2024–March 2025 are in!

An amazing 106,410 hours were logged, that’s the equivalent of £1,340,766 (based on the Real Living Wage of £12.60/hr).

A huge shout-out to all the volunteers in #Birmingham, your efforts are making a real difference! 💚

The UK Spotted Flycatcher population has declined by 93% in my lifetime!

Friends of Stechford Hall Park enjoyed watching 2 during my guided walk today

Brum has a HUGE story to tell about its nature & how it improves the lives of its people!

Safer Parks: a new campaign to end street harassment - Green Flag Award

Keep Britain Tidy and the Green Flag Award are working with the University of Leeds and the Suzy Lamplugh Trust to support a new campaign: Safer Parks: Stand Up Against Street Harassment.

I genuinely feel ready if I ever witness harassment again.'   'Brilliant - short and snappy, clear tools to use and signposted to further resources. Mixture of content through videos, polls, chats and presentations kept me engaged throughout. Highly recommend. Veolia’s nationwide orchard now stands at over 1,500 apple & pear trees! All of their orchards across the UK come from the same mother tree, making each individual tree part of a larger nationwide network. Applications close on Sat 8 Nov. Good luck!
