When viewers see a working-class woman on screen, empathy happens immediately. On the page, where poetry depends on tone and diction, those same realities get read as “rough” or “unpolished.”

A lovely programme on RTE Lyric FM this evening in which poet Moya Cannon talked to people in The Burren and read some poems from her most recent collection.

Here's a copy of Copilot's reply: David Seuss’s Frank: Sonnets—a raw, fragmented, deeply personal collection

I asked about frank: sonnets by Diane Seuss. @MicrosoftCopilot responded with “David Seuss.” That’s not just wrong—it’s revealing. Misnaming a woman, especially in a space she dominates, reflects the bias baked into tech. This needs to be addressed. Publicly. Transparently.

Oh big congrats - delighted for you!

Reading with a fantastic bunch on Saturday in Dublin.

It'll take me a while to recover from reading Seuss' frank: sonnets. Love this where she pokes fun at eyeliner.

There's much I could say about this image - but I'll leave it to yourself.

As the Global Sumud Flotilla near Gaza, my thoughts are with all those on board but especially my brilliant friend the activist and poet Sarah Clancy. This poem sums up her spirit, her bravery, her empathy. As she says on her video updates: Free Palestine. Free us all. 🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸

Big bow back to the editor in chief Damien B Donnelly @eatthestorms.com and sub-editor @rhonagreene.bsky.social for accepting my poem for publication within the forthcoming issue V of The Storms Journal. It somehow feels even more special, if that's possible, the second time round. Top of the world!
