Daytime bridge shots are good when you find the best landscape, especially because of the green areas and the like. From my perspective are night time photos better. And when you find one with the best angle, the best setting, and even the best color, they are the best ones. Will Truax featured one in his facebook post recently which clearly falls in the category of best night time photos.

While the Route 66-themed View Stop Park is being built on the west side of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, workers are seeking to find the original Route 66 roadway that went through there. The park will include a Route 66 centennial marker, a bridge overlook plaza, parking, wildflower gardens, a boulder playground, a “Get Your Kicks” photo-op sign plaza, a license-plate plaza, a directional sign plaza and a neon sign at the park’s entrance. This photo came from Hank Zaletel's postcard collection and takes us to Berlin during the time of the Berlin Wall. Here we have a photo of a border guard at the East-West border which blocked the Knesebeck Bridge. The Warren through truss span was built in 1908 and used to span a canal connecting the suburbs of Zehlendorf and Teltow.

It's fall, and with that, the time of year when we see trees change their colors. Fall is the best time for photos of the foliage, especially when they are near a covered bridge. Amy Daggett from Ship Junkies presented a set of beautiful night photos, for the Facebook page recently, of the Gordie Howe CSB, spanning the Windsor River at the Canadian border between Windsor, Ontario and Detroit, Michigan. It showed some ships passing through, but this photo captures the crossing in its full glory, with LED lighting on the towers and the decking.

To close out the summer, I would like to feature a TYB moment. We're going back to 2009 and Winneshiek County in NE Iowa. We did some bridgehunting with some friends in the region and found some real gems. Among them, the now extant Upper Bluffton Bridge, as seen here. The bridge was a typical through truss bridge that was the product of the Wrought Iron and Bridge Company, having been built in 1878, while Jim Hammond was agent for the county and George Winship was county engineer during that time.

Also Mystery Bridge Nr. 249 Flensburg has two city parks, each one located up the hill west of the City Center (Norder & Südermarkt) and Shopping Mile (Roter Strasse). The larger of the two is Christiansen Park, which has the lion statue Idsted. The smaller of the two, Stadtpark, has this bridge, or what's left of it. This one features a similar construction like the viaduct at Kollund, north of the German-Danish border, with its root-like railings and the material of wood.

During my recent trip into the Ore Mountains east of Chemnitz, I came across a few interesting-looking bridges that deserve the readers' attention. This mystery bridge article involved two of them, located next to each other as with the streams they cross. The first candidate is perhaps the most unique of the two. It's a stone arch bridge of about 7-8 meters long and 5 meters wide.
