Did something pretty cool with family and friends last weekend 👩🏽‍🎓💚

Feeling very bamboozled by the complexity of applying for my initial psychology license across different states. It really doesn't need to be this hard

“How can you be a pediatric psychologist when you’re just a baby??”

Chile I ask myself that every day

Cutting from a manuscript to meet journal word limits can be such a soul-crushing task. All of these words are my babies 😭

We need broad education rich in the humanities AND the sciences for EVERYBODY. We should be pushing that in our vision for the future or whatever exists of it moving forward. Stop letting the tech bros bully you out of your intellectual rights or your civil ones for that matter.

This is what we are robbing our own students of when we are pushing ai in the classroom. What have allowed conservatives to rob young students of. We are trying to fill the deficits of a lack of social science education with ai but it’s only going to make the problem worse.

In cognitive science, sociology and psychology, I learned about things like societal structures, how the brain/mind works, all the years and different psychological theories etc. These are the things that we lose and have lost when the social sciences are systematically unfounded.

the reboot was definitely not good but it was so bad I couldn't look away. I'm glad they're scrapping it

I want to give a special shoutout to @library.cmu.edu for allowing me to maintain alumni access. If my current institutions don't have access to certain articles/databases, I know I could always count on you 😘

Getting an R&R on a manuscript is always nice when the reviewer feedback is positive with very helpful suggestions to strengthen it 😊

A student interaction yesterday made me consider the fact that in all the talk of why Black boys don’t go to college this week, I didn’t see anyone asking what those college classrooms are missing because Black boys aren’t in them. The negative impact of the systemic failure is not one-sided.

Happy #APPIC Match Day to all the trainees who matched in phase 2!

It’s important to note over half of P2 applicants did not secure an internship, let alone an APA accredited spot, and truly speaks to the major problems with the current APPIC system that need to be improved for trainees.

Two years ago I did not match in #APPIC Phase I at the end of an already sucky week. If you're looking for someone's experience, I shared mine. Not matching brings up a lot of feelings and potentially doubt. I got through the process knowing that I was not alone. youtu.be/e2qq16xUGns

Happy APPIC Match Day to those who celebrate!

For some of you, this email is extremely exciting and you are planning on working in an environment of your dreams

For others, you feel defeated and overwhelmed. Thoughts about not being good enough.

Whichever group you are in, YOU ARE GOOD ENOUGH!
