Saying there must be trials isn't just an emotive aspiration.

Congress can:
- Create a new court (complying w/ 6A jury vicinage)
- Give it jurisdiction over defined category of crimes
- Also create dedicated prosecutors for the same
- Strip SCOTUS of appellate jurisdiction

It can be done.

Highly recommend not clicking the story but this is terrifying and newsworthy and I am grateful to Carl for sharing it. Doug Hamlin is EVP and CEO of the NRA, and holds a TON of power in the org. While the news broke in 2024, I never heard about it until now. Shuddering.

I had this conversation with Don Lemon a couple weeks ago.

This is the third shooting and the second fatal shooting by Defendants' agents in Minneapolis in less than three weeks.! The situation is grave; this most recent fatal shooting and Defendants' escalating unlawful conduct provide compelling circumstances for Plaintiffs' request for this Court to treat Plaintiffs' motion as one for a Temporary Restraining Order as filed. If unchecked, Operation Metro Surge will only continue to inflict irreparable harms and wreak havoc on Plaintiffs and their residents. ... The need for emergency relief is urgent and undeniable. Plaintiffs ask the Court to act immediately, and certainly no later than the conclusion of the January 26 hearing, to preserve the status quo by ordering a temporary halt to Operation Metro Surge, requiring Defendants to drastically reduce the number of agents deployed in Minnesota. The record before the Court is more than sufficient to justify this immediate relief: Plaintiffs have demonstrated ongoing, irreparable harm and established serious constitutional claims. Tonight, on behalf of Minnesota law enforcement, I filed a lawsuit against DHS to prevent the destruction of evidence related to the fatal shooting of Alex Pretti.

DHS is not above the law, and Alex sure as hell is not beneath it.

If he was arrested under Operation PARRIS that means he was a full-blown refugee with 100% lawful status, on a clear path directly to a green card and eventual citizenship.

With Operation PARRIS DHS is arresting recently-arrived refugees and sending them to Texas to be interrogated and “re-vetted.”
