Americans are dealing with crushing health care costs. Republicans in Congress chose to shut the government down instead of working with us on solutions.

I’m fighting to reopen the government and lower costs for Rhode Islanders.

House Republicans have been on vacation for 22 days.

The government is shut down and health care costs are exploding.

Cancel the vacation, and let’s get back to Washington. We have work to do.

Everyone deserves access to affordable, high-quality care. But RIers are facing a health care crisis.

I’m ready to vote for a budget that lowers costs & strengthens the health care system. Republicans in Congress just need to work with us.

Today we celebrated the opening of the Crossroads Summer Street Apartments in Providence – 176 new permanent homes for Rhode Islanders.

This is a major step forward in tackling the housing crisis and making Rhode Island a more affordable place to live.

In these challenging and uncertain times, the United Way of RI continues to provide essential support to nonprofits, families and individuals in need. I enjoyed meeting with the UWRI team today and continue to be grateful for their work.

The 80% of Americans who want health care funding in the budget are not “terrorists”, they are every people who can’t afford for their premiums to double.

Stop whining and call a vote on a budget that includes health care funding. It’s that simple.

Emmer: "This is about one thing and one thing alone -- to score political points with the terrorist wing of their party, which is set to hold a hate America rally in DC next week."

Today I met with the RI National Guard in Cranston. The brave men & women in RING are among the many who may have to work w/o pay because of the shutdown.

It’s time for Speaker Johnson to call Congress back so we can do our jobs, fix the health care crisis, & reopen the government.

Young families in Rhode Island are already stretching every last dollar they make.

Under the Republican budget, a family for 4 making $64k would see health care costs rise by $216 a month.

Instead of fixing this, Republicans in Congress shut down the government and took a vacation.

Today I met with health care providers at South County Hospital to discuss how Congressional Republicans are putting the health care system at risk by refusing to extend ACA funding in the budget.

We need to reopen the government with a budget that protects care for Rhode Islanders.

With a health care affordability crisis and a government shutdown, this is a stressful and confusing time for many.

Today, I’ll be answering your questions live on Instagram to explain what is happening and how we can fix it. www.instagram.com/stories/rep....

Boxes of lifesaving food aid manufactured by @edesianutrition.bsky.social in NK are finally moving again to hungry children around the world.

This is the result of months of advocacy and proof that even in these challenging times, it’s still possible to get good things done.

Instead of finding terrorists, drug smugglers, and human traffickers, Trump is diverting resources to silence people engaging in free speech.

This is dangerous, undemocratic, and makes America less safe.

Every day I’ve been getting angrier when I think about how maga, the so called alpha male bros, always punch down at people who are less fortunate or struggling.

This isn’t manliness. It’s cowardly, it’s shameful, and it makes you look like a tiny little douche face

After months of delays following the DOGE stop work order,
@edesianutrition.bsky.social
in NK just resumed regular shipping for U.S.-funded food aid since January.

This will save thousands of lives, with many more to come.

Thank you to everyone who advocated. You made a real difference.

Republicans are giving Americans a false choice: pay much higher health care costs with rising premiums, or keep the government shut down.

The American people deserve better.

Republicans have had 15 years to come up with their Obamacare alternative, and still have NOTHING.

Mike Johnson has kept House Republicans on vacation for three weeks rather than deal with the healthcare crisis.

No plan, no urgency, no credibility.

Mike Johnson: "Let me look right into the camera and tell you very clearly: Republicans are the ones concerned about healthcare. Republicans are the party working around the clock everyday to fix healthcare. This is not talking points for us: we've done it."

RIers are being stretched to the limits by rising health care & drug costs. Employers say it’s making it harder to keep the lights on. Instead of addressing the crisis, Republicans shut the government down. I’m fighting to reopen it & protect health care.
