Right now, Democrats have the power to defund and abolish ICE. We should do it. This is about right and wrong—and the murder we are seeing on the streets is just plain wrong. Anyone who supports funding DHS and ICE is supporting the murder of Americans. We can stop this.

The funding deal separates DHS from the other bills. An immediate DHS shutdown would be preferable, but whether DHS runs on CR or lapses, ICE & CBP continue.
This puts DHS by itself — setting up a DHS-only shutdown if we don’t get enough. That’s a place of maximum strength, if Ds have the courage.

My question for senate democrats is why do you think putting new language in a spending bill requiring ICE to follow the law and the constitution will change how ICE behaves on the ground, when all available evidence confirms this regime has zero respect for the law or the will of Congress?

So my connect the dots here is that there will be some allegation that there was foreign interference in the voting — Hugo Chavez, Italian satellites, etc. — (hence why DNI is involved), making it a nat sec issue that they will use to justify doing something crazy/illegal in Nov

Even under SCOTUS's dubious reasoning in Trump v. U.S., there is no scenario in which maneuvering billions of dollars to an offshore account to keep it out of reach from Congress and courts is an "official act." This is all criminal and impeachable.
