Well this is awkward!
NEW on CNN: In several old videos we found, Pete Hegseth blasted Trump in 2016 warning he could issue unlawful orders that troops should refuse, calling him an “armchair tough guy” with five draft deferments.

Now he’s attacking Democrats for saying same.

“In 2024 the company issuing tether made profits of more than $13bn, almost twice as much as BlackRock, the world’s largest asset manager. Considering it has only around 150 employees, Tether may well have the highest profit per employee of any company ever.”
“‘Stablecoins are a money-launderer’s dream,’ said one. ‘But we don’t want to say that in public because we do not want to ruin our relationship with Tether.’”

"Are you impressed by Richard Hanania?" has become a good litmus test.

Value debate over substance? Influenced by X? Have trouble with bad faith? Taken in by fancier words? Think showing you're open to toxic ideas makes you better than people who aren't?

Matt Yglesias, Jared Polis — any others?
it’s been pretty funny to see Polis’ addiction to posting completely end any discussion of him as a potential 2028 candidate

THREAD — 1849: When Europe Dreamed of Unity, Russia Built the Secret Police to Stop It

In 1849, Victor Hugo told the Paris Peace Congress that a day would come when Europe would lay down arms, form a fraternity of nations, and build a parliament for the continent.

Thailand launched airstrikes against Cambodia as fighting broke out in multiple areas along their disputed border.

Six weeks ago, Trump oversaw the signing of a "peace deal" between the two countries.

My dad abhors any negative comments about immigrants. Asked him recently why he’s so strong on it: ‘Because we’re always happy to take the rich and clever ones. Which means it’s not about disliking immigrants. It’s about disliking the poor and vulnerable. And that’s a bad human instinct.’
This is so disgusting.
