Next week, Mike is doing a workshop about talking to people about your work. It's a small group. It's intensive. People call it transformative or whatever.

If you have professional development budget, direct it here and skip a few annoying meetings.

Can API prototyping be an iterative process?
Most elements you create during API design are wasted. If they're not validated by stakeholders, they end up being replaced with new ideas. This is a situation that happens because, as an API Designer, you work on entire APIs. Even when you iterate on a design, you do it holistically, taking the feedback and adapting the whole API accordingly.

#APIs are more than just code; they're about people. My new article on @nordicapis.com explores how #APIs are creating real value for #citizens by transforming #public #services.

Let's build a better future, one API at a time.

Exactly. That is something that products like Speakeasy help you to achieve. See this video excerpt recorded recently with Georges Haidar from Speakeasy and Ben Smith from Stripe: notes.brunopedro.com/2025/10/09/2...

LLMs can’t handle large APIs

That's a great point. The reason there is no mention of MCP is that I wrote the article in December 2023, and MCP was created in November 2024, almost one year later.

The point I make, that an API with a large number of operations is harder to use by AI, is still valid today, though. Even with MCP.

"Especially with AI systems, interacting with a large API becomes more complex. Systems such as ChatGPT expect your API to offer a clear functionality so it can be contextually picked whenever it makes sense."

API prototyping can also start with writing minimal code and adding layers on top to progress.

This contrasts with OpenAPI-first API prototyping. Both methods can have their advantages, I reckon.

"There's a mismatch between what API providers think their audience is and who the decision-makers really are. While providers publish their documentation targeting developers, the API decision-makers are less technical and more business-savvy."

In 1637, tulip bulbs sold for more than canal houses. Then the market crashed & everyone asked, what were we thinking?

Today’s AI boom feels familiar. We’re trading agents and copilots instead of bulbs, but the mania looks the same.

I'm linking an article from the Financial Times. Those are not my statements. I'm simply copying some of the content and linking to the original.

Yes, the first statement is quite interesting. It states that telling a story is now more important than designing a product.

What do you mean by "receipts?"
