Note that the servers weren't always in Sacramento, CA.

They used to be in Montréal, QC.

Much as I loved it, it was an even worse experience since the proximity to both southern and WC players was ass.

Basically, a lot of their decisions which make sense in Japan simply... don't when brought overseas and they benefitted from a local perspective.

IE: The reception of said partnership with the University of Tokyo. In Japan this doesn't register as bad. Overseas people are up in arms about it.

We don't know if it's specifically for the Loc QA team but it's definitely the most likely candidate.

This screams executive nonsense because there's no shot they get 70% by 2027. Especially under unspecified QA.

not because GenAI, but because no outlet posting it is actually investigating the story at all. Even in the quote, they don't mention GenAI specifically.

So, basically, SE was sold a bill of goods by some nerds at the University of Tokyo about "generative AI" (lol) for QA Testing (lmao), a task it LITERALLY CANNOT DO, and nobody at this outlet thought "Hey maybe we should investigate further."

Criticism is an art, it has theories, it has methodologies and to me it's high time we start expecting critics to at least know something about criticism.
