There’s a massive shortage on new gas turbines and it takes years to get them. This is a problem I think from before AI went insane because they were not popular enough to justify building lots of manufacturing. Capacity isn’t there to build them. So many consequences are approaching us at once.

Agree in the US context. I wonder if the same constraints and assumptions would hold true (may be they would) in the Middle East, where tons of natural gas generators could power data centers in desert, for a short-term, without land or environmental constraints, using cheap migrant labor?
