If you didn’t watch tonight’s Burien city council meeting, you need to! It was reported that CARES has failed multiple health inspections & the council never knew about it- including major issues like failing adequately vaccinate, isolate, clean, feed, & water dogs & keeping dogs in too small cages.

CM Andrade addressing public commentary on Burien CARES and accusing outsiders of “spreading misinformation.” Says it’s upsetting that staff or volunteers are being criticized and “bullied”. Fairness means consistency and we shouldn’t ask for exceptions for people we know. 👀

Without getting into Burien's long history of policies that harm homeless residents, it's telling that every single city thinks they're doing more than their share and that the homeless people in their city are from "somewhere else." Everyone is doing too much and homeless people are from nowhere
