I don't believe people not dying will disabuse them of the beliefs they already have, they are already not dying. They cannot become meaningfully worse so if they die and blame the right people it can only benefit the world. To say nothing of whether we deserve it or not (we do).

I don't know you so I'll reserve judgement but my personal belief is that Americans must experience senseless death in the hopes that maybe we can learn anything at all. About the consequences of political action, about the countless senseless deaths we will cause in the developing world, anything.

No I think they do. I think most people here understand just how badly this administration, this congress, and this supreme court could break just about everything. Some people may be foolish enough to think they'd be isolated from the worst of the damage but I don't think that's a majority.

could probably write a book, or several, on the history of imageboards and their cultures

4channer referring to the kind of person the shooter was. 4chan user being a circle with ~80+% overlap, a certain subset of which could be considered not reactionary. People who would stick around specific niche boards or even threads for a rare level of expert/enthusiast discussion

Imageboards always contained multitudes, and to some extent still do. Same way that they always had a reactionary undercurrent. Demographics can shift rapidly on some boards and remain static on others. Lefty "4channers" don't really exist, "lefty" 4chan users do even if they're a small minority.
