This picture was taken in 1982. Just 6 years later all of this track would be officially abandoned. All of these locomotives were being stored, having no use as CN slowly gave up on the Newfoundland. By now it was in a serious state of decline, and the writing was on the wall.

You can see at least three reminders of the PRR on this unit: there's a Keystone on the long hood under the radiator grills, there's another on the short hood and the yellow PRR letters are poking through under the PC applied ones under the cab window.

Recently, the Edmonton police did something incredibly Canadian and very smart.

A man was holding people hostage in his apartment and was armed with multiple knives. So, the police borrowed a firetruck... and used the ladder as a sniper nest.
