If I were to make my own version of Unstoppable, I would set in the '70s to use locomotives that would have used the Deadman's pedal (the precursor to modern alerts to avoid runaway trains). Mainly, the following types would be my 777, 1206, and field trip units respectively.

Running the Pennsylvania Railroad Congressional today. 1963 GG1 (with decals), 3 original 1955 cars and a later dining car. I use that instead of the dome car since the real Congressional never used one!
