My household are big fans of TV show 'Shoresy' and "settle down" is a common utterance here. I get what you're saying, 'don't comply in advance' but the phrase still makes me smile.

Back in 1968 the protest chant was "the whole world is watching". What was true back then in the age of real time images being projected into televisions in living rooms around the world is even more so now. With live streaming phones in everyone's hand the whole world really is watching.

My guess would be it's about optics. Sure, Grijalva could likely bypass Johnson and be sworn in as the duly elected rep of the AZ 7th right now despite him trying to block her. But if Speaker Johnson is willing to show everyone, not just people who pay attention to politics, what a craven

They're commonly called 'Stingray' (one of the original brand names) cell phone trackers or interceptors and law enforcement has been using them for many years now. The legality of their use is gray, at best. Not that legal really matters to ICE anyways.

He doesn't give two shits about anyone's 'religious freedoms' other that his own. There's a reason that they are trying to destroy the Constitution and make their brand of 'Christianity' the official state sponsored religion of the USA. All other beliefs will become illegal if they get their way.

Remember to write your representatives. This is what I just wrote my Congressperson; who is a Democrat. It doesn't have to be long, they just need to hear from you. Anything will do.

I know that the House should be, but isn't, in session right now. I believe that the Democrats, unlike the Republican members, are still coming into work. Capitalize on those optics. Allow every single journalist, mainstream and independent, access so the people of this country can see who isu still working for them and who has taken an unscheduled paid vacation at the same time that many of us are loosing our jobs and our healthcare. Do not capitulate and join this Republican dysfunction and corruption. Not a single Democrat should cross that bright red line that the Republicans themselves painted. Unlike the Republicans, you all know who you really work for; your constituents. The Republican Party has become consumed by greed, lust for power, and hatred and are no longer fit to lead. They are gleefully inflicting suffering onto all of us, including their constituents who voted for them. Push to make sure that everyone sees this. We have No Kings in America for a reason. Please do not let the Trump regime become the first. Fight this with every tool you have and know that we are doing the same. Never forget, you have friends everywhere.

If memory serves, China's last war was back in 1979, and they lost. Presumably they are studying Russia's war in Ukraine and have an understanding of modern, drone centered, warfare. How well that translates into the real world and trying to invade an island remains to be seen.
