I tell HS students that 10 page papers are the easiest. Couple weeks research, probably write over 3 days and allow a couple for peer review

It's the 5 page papers that kill you. You have to be insanely disciplined and be able to cut an awful lot of your supporting argument etc. Very frustrating.

I doubt the pilots are going to be doing a lot of schmoozing in town. Singapore has a similar training presence at the same base and I believe it's a pretty intense 9 month course to qualify on the F-15 for a new pilot.

UPDATE: In emailed statement to me / @reason.com, DHS alleges that WGN-TV producer Debbie Brockman "threw objects at Border Patrol’s car and she was placed under arrest for assault on a federal law enforcement officer."

Wow. Greg Bovino admits on camera that his agents can detain people if you look scared, change your demeanor, or grip a steering wheel too tight.

As his unmasked agents walk around with large guns to scare you, they may arrest you just for that — even if you're a U.S. citizen.
