Such a great explainer, thank you. Also what many folks don't realize is HOW LONG tenure takes to get... years of teaching while in grad school, then 0-10 yrs of applying for TT positions while adjuncting/visiting/contract, then 6-7 years in a TT position.

I'm back to the Hebrew Bible. Kings I & II. God and the prophets getting mad at the kings of Judah & Israel for worshipping other gods is turning into screwball comedy. "AGAIN! What did I tell you last time!" Just finished the Elijah chapters (aka the prototype for Jesus)

How about we stop deporting people to begin with and abolish the agencies responsible for deportation? I don't want to go back to the status quo where the misery was out of sight and the militarized local police were beating ppl up instead of the feds.

Book recommendation: Fonda Lee's "JADE WAR" is amazing. Second in the "Green Bone Saga" trilogy. Builds on the rising tension in "Jade City" and expands the scope while also digging deeper into the characters from the first book. Read it just after finishing Frantz Fanon's "Wretched of the Earth"

The violence has been ongoing, regardless of whether the protests are peaceful, the paperwork has been filed correctly, the lawsuit's been won, the useless Dems have said "stop" enough times. Sooner or later we're going to either have to go to a general mass strike or armed resistance.
