It's madness what's happening in the US right now -- there's a larger number of videos like this, including ICE making up fake claims about a journalist to arrest her. Is it just me, or is there a distinct lack of reporting on it in the Irish media?

ICE GOONS crash into car and then point weapons to kidnap man.

I'd agree to the extent that most people most of the time are focused on what affects them daily or weekly but most people also strongly support climate action.

The data confirms it over and over again, FF are just listening to a loud minority. People need leadership.

Not only this is amazing because part of fascism is the destruction of joy but it also makes it look ridiculous that the military is being deployed to put a stop to this

That man and his leadership seems to have evaporated. I think most in FF knows it -- everybody only has some much in fuel in the tank. He's been a very long time in politics and longer than most at ministerial level or higher.

I did not think this would make waves but the leader of the county basically just said climate action is pointless and it's only featured in one newspaper with the lead buried.

Is he seen as such a lame duck after last week? Or does no TD and noone else in the media think it's worth highlighting?

“I'm Jewish.. All Jewish people are not k!llers. This is just a section of the Israeli people that are like that.. What happened in Gaza was utterly wrong, wicked and terrifying. The Hamas attack was terrible.. but it came from 70 years of oppression..”

Jim O'Callaghan must be loving that Micheál Martin is relating strongly to one of the UK's weakest PMs in years:
cianginty.bsky.social
I think it's wider than that. Marten always seemed cold on the idea of climate action in any substantive way.

The data doesn't support the claims he's making about a lack of public support. It's a lack of leadership we have and parties chasing after populism... bsky.app/profile/saoi...

In addition to being totally pathetic, he's also completely wrong.
EPA polls consistently show that the vast majority, across all ages, incomes , urban or rural, all want the government to take action.
So by polarising, he must mean that Micheal o Leary,Amazon, and Tirlan don't want it

100% durable is a very strange claim to make and clearly not really possible 100%.

Come on, the Indo have to be kidding with this:

"It is feared that the plates, which are sourced abroad, are being deliberately used by motorists to evade detection for speeding and other road traffic offences, and even to frustrate camera-based tolling systems." www.independent.ie/irish-news/g...
Gardaí unable to issue fixed-charge notices and fines over illegal car licence plates
Gardaí are unable to issue fixed-charge notice fines to motorists who use illegal licence plates because of an issue with the force’s hand-held devices.

This is amazing stuff even from Ivan Yates... Did he think he was having a chat with one of his consultancy clients or something and not live on air?

"I would smear the bejaysus out of her, simply because you've nothing to lose... you've got to create a fear... in my experience, nothing works like negative campaigning."

They're really openly saying the quiet part out loud now aren't they...🤔

Fairplay to the judge for convicting on this... But on a less serious note, Drogheda court house should definitely feature as some kind of Imperial outpost in some Star Wars spinoff...

What hope is there for prospective homeowners when this is the reality faced by us?

Homes consistently going for above asking prices.

Investment firms and vulture funds purchasing lots of new builds.

No political will to address the situation.

Average houses prices are now eight times average earnings, according to MyHome.ie
The report found that one-fifth of all properties are being sold for 20% or more above the asking price.

In a woodcut released today the Guild of Thieves and Cutpurses declared that enforcement of regulations against Thieving and Pursecutting would ‘devastate a growth industry’ and damage the economy.

I'd guess nobody will be able to find who it was, even if they wanted to.

...regardless of if people think they like the motives of a person leaking or not.

There's good reason why there's a journalist exemption to data protection law. Many/most leaks which have been in the public interest throughout the decades would be against data protected law
cianginty.bsky.social
You're saying it was a political opponent without a tiny bit of evidence of the motive of the leaker. Same thing on here: I've seen Connelly supporters attack fellow lefties calling them anything under the sun because they have issues with her judgement. Again: Journalists' sources are protected...
