#traveladdicts strongly recommend Letyshop for earning cash back on Flights, Accommodations, and Travel Insurance. Extremely useful if you see a deal on Google Maps for Booking .com, Hostelworld or Luxury Escape.
I also believe buying gifts at the airport is a great way to use any remaining balance on a welcome Suica card, which you won’t get back.
My favorite way to save money on food is by supporting local businesses like Soba Noodles and Gyudon, especially since many Gyudon restaurants are open 24 hours. You can find set meals cheaper than convenience store options, with some at just 500¥ in Tokyo.

I think Skytree is always worth it; it's the second-tallest building in Asia and the tallest building in Japan, and I never prebooked. Even if you don't go up to the top, the area is very nice, featuring a cute local Tobu train.

This week on Letter from Tokyo:
from the quiet glow of fire,
to the chill of haunted places,
to the strange beauty where culture, capital — and Koei — intertwine.

Why do the flowers in Japan last such a Short amount of time?
Where I live in Hastings, New Zealand, they've started growing a bunch of Sakura on the side of the streets, and they are in bloom for nearly a month, way longer than in Japan.
