It occurred to me that my “Fodlan’s first journalist” idea from a while back could also be a foundation for her alternate modern day self that would flesh out that story very nicely. I think a whole lotta people, many of whom would outright reject the notion if you said it out loud, very firmly believe that humans are inherently evil and “need” religion to reign them in.

The notion that they could be wrong, that religion could be a CAUSE, won’t even be considered

It’s awesome how a pack of self-proclaimed atheists 20 years ago (half of whom have since embraced Christianity again) define atheists forever but the largest denomination of Christians in the US do NOT represent Christianity as a whole
