Little known fact: The author Iain Banks faked his own death so that he could start a new career as a guerilla grafitti artist under an impenetrable pseudonym

The news I saw didn't have much to say. Just "singer turned paedo moidered. On to other news..."

You can think that prisoners should be protected but still find it funny that this happened in the same way you can admit a goal should technically have been disallowed but still celebrate it.

Imagine deciding that defending Watkins is a good hill to die on.

Ah, it's to have been a news story today that people were posting about but maybe it's not been as viral as I thought. I'll find a link

Yeah, he was a paedophile and even by paedophile standards he was a bad one.

Maybe it should be the light hearted feel good story at the end of the news.

Gonna be interesting to see how the news covers the Ian Watkins business. Like, whenever people die they tend to go fairly easy on their negatives but this can't possibly be the case here.

I feel like anything but reporting with glee is going to be a disappointment.

It's a show airing earlier this year in which today's cola bottle guy appeared with the camels quote
colinwmd.bsky.social
Who wouldn't want to go to school on a camel though?
Nathan Rimmington, 33, is a haulier and owner of an HGV driving school in Barnsley. Huge, tattooed, always sweating and always pining for a pint, he is portrayed in the series as an incorrigible joker: "If the government don't crack down on immigration, my kids will have to go to school on fucking camels."

Also, didn't see a single Union Flag or George Cross on the road that had double figures of them a few weeks ago. So that's good.

On the plus side: getting some exercise today then

"Hmmm... maybe we *should* keep a key hidden outside somewhere to avoid exactly this situation"

I remember noticing this a few years ago and being gobsmacked. I think the reason was that it was called Sadness in the UK for some reason.

OMG I had this book too. I think my first of what turned out to be many dinosaurs books

🧵1/10 @sophiesaurus98.bsky.social posted a great thread the other day about a beloved childhood dinosaur book and her young ideas about it. I thought I'd chime in with my own. I got this book for my 5th birthday in 1965(!) It was written by Jane Werner Watson (author of a zillion Golden Books) and--
The cover of a book called "Dinosaurs and Other Prehistoric Reptiles," showing a color illustration of a brachiosaurus eating ferns while half submerged in a swamp, with an Allosaurus in the background along with a flying pteranosaur. The book is worn, with tape holding the binding.

Yeah, the non-single stuff like Nervously and To Face The Truth were great

Ah, I liked that one. Was a big fan of that album

Yeah, he was good but the rest of the panel were fecking annoying.

Most of the audience were surprisingly sensible though so that was cool.

I guess I should watch this question time
colinwmd.bsky.social
Oh no, I hope it's not one of those that goes downhill with repeat viewings!
