Little known fact: The author Iain Banks faked his own death so that he could start a new career as a guerilla grafitti artist under an impenetrable pseudonym

Also, didn't see a single Union Flag or George Cross on the road that had double figures of them a few weeks ago. So that's good.

I remember noticing this a few years ago and being gobsmacked. I think the reason was that it was called Sadness in the UK for some reason.

🧵1/10 @sophiesaurus98.bsky.social posted a great thread the other day about a beloved childhood dinosaur book and her young ideas about it. I thought I'd chime in with my own. I got this book for my 5th birthday in 1965(!) It was written by Jane Werner Watson (author of a zillion Golden Books) and--
The cover of a book called "Dinosaurs and Other Prehistoric Reptiles," showing a color illustration of a brachiosaurus eating ferns while half submerged in a swamp, with an Allosaurus in the background along with a flying pteranosaur. The book is worn, with tape holding the binding.

Yeah, the non-single stuff like Nervously and To Face The Truth were great

Yeah, he was good but the rest of the panel were fecking annoying.

Most of the audience were surprisingly sensible though so that was cool.

I guess I should watch this question time

Oh no, I hope it's not one of those that goes downhill with repeat viewings!

Yeah, it was certainly tough going. I did a short thread about it on Twitter as soon as I came out and the main thing I remember was the very first post of that thread was "Fucking Hell"

Was listening to a podcast last night talking about Aronofsky's "mother!" and now I want to watch it again.

Only saw it once at the cinema and immediately decided it was a classic but that was like 8 years ago now.

This morning there is one Nobel Peace Prize winner, 8.1 billion or so people who did not win the Nobel Peace Prize, and one Nobel Peace Prize loser.

Oh no, has the time come? Is it going to bombard me even more with threats of updates I can't install?

That was okay but far from his best

Probably going to watch Licorice Pizza tonight as I never got round to that for some reason. Not sure why as I almost always catch PTA's new films at the cinema but suddenly more excited to see it now I'm in Anderson mode again.

The Orphan Crusher is here to stay. If we don’t feed more Orphans to the Crusher the Orphan Crushing industry will die. It’s time to wake up to the reality of the Orphan Crusher. The Orphan Crusher is worth billions. We need to teach people to use the Orphan Crusher. It’s here to stay.
