There's parts of me that worry that being seen as a friend of mine would become a problem to others, and would hurt your ability to be friends with them as well.

It's a struggle when you piss off mutual friends and how that messes with social dynamics and clout. It's all high school again.

Frustrated that the free market for games and fancy electronics have pretty much always rewarded the expensive stuff over the budget stuff pretty universally

Usually with a variety of "essential" items? Which is stuff like food, rent, but also like gas, refrigerators, automobiles, and stuff like that

....basically answering these questions is always hard and not as transparent as I kinda wish it was lol

That's usually how inflation is measured TBF. The price of a vague basket of goods and how the prices of that change over time

Usually leaves out a lot of food stuffs though,and doesn't actually say what the secret basket of goods is (except that it's more urban focused). It's hard to measure.
