I love the trope of animals as signs of omens. The wolf howling under a full moon, the raven perched against a tree, the black cat staring into your eyes, an owl's hoot in the dark night...

I really like the idea that animals are much more attuned to the spiritual world.

The closest possible thing (not really lol) would be my take on biblical angels as a cosmic horror entity in my flash fiction story "Here God is Blind".

Other than that, mutated hellhounds populate the apocalyptic world of my short story "Birth of the Blood Moon".

In my short story "Among the Ruin and Ash" Eve is the last living descendant of House Morrigan whose family crest is a raven flying defiantly against a crimson sky.

I plan on expanding this story into a novel (or a series even) and would love to give her a raven familiar!
