Anyways for the 50th time, online moderation isn't real, moderation is a bunch of underpaid workers in the global south being paid 2 dollars an hour to view thousands of posts a day and being traumatized.

It’s really hard to describe to people who are not artists how survival mode does *not* inspire creativity, as the myth would have us believe. It suppresses creativity as you try to limit every possible risk – and the opportunities that come with them.

when I was defending itch I heard from a lot of - frankly to my shock - other queers who were like "it's a platform, platforms are the enemy" and until we're able to distinguish _as users_ the ways in which worker owned services aren't your enemy and deserve grace, we won't be seeing very many
