I am interested in Climate Change, SF (hard) environment, gardening, cooking, and beaches. In many ways an old school left social democrat but politically the climate emergency is my overarching political concern. Blocking no profile, no posts followers.

I don't think Australia is immune to fascism but I do think that this joining, unjoining, mutation, hybridisation that's going on with the rightwing parties is a road to nowhere.
They need an Australian Trump. Someone who is a clean skin when it comes to politics.

If there is one media outlet that tells the truth about climate change it is the Guardian. I doubt there is a 24 hour period that the Guardian does not mention climate change and who is responsible for it.

Then there is the indigenous history of how Narrm Narrm (Port Phillip Bay) was formed with a sudden flooding event caused by an earthquake.
We have barely scratched the surface when it comes to the long indigenous history of Australia.

I remember the day the LNP essentially said the car industry in Australia can piss off. The Abbott government did a lot of dumb things but even then you could see that this decision was one we would regret for years to come.

Republicans are exploiting kinks in the Constitution like the states being in charge of running elections. A lot of what is happening in the US is baked into the system. Americans seem to sacralize their constitution to an unhealthy extent. I doubt they can change it before it is too late.

Territorial concessions used to be common after wars. The formation of the UN after WWII was meant to put an end to this.
