Idk, idk what the point of this was other than ranting lol. Just like, able bodied people, keep your abelism in check. Be aware of your surroundings and treat disabled people with agency and respect. And stay the fuck out of my personal space.

I've had people fully step over me at cons (I'm a small person in a small chair), walk directly in front of me and stop because they don't see me, reach over me, grab my chair, disregard my personal space, and I can't even count the number of times I've been hit/almost hit by cars at crosswalks.

When I'm in my chair people view me as some helpless little person, they treat me like a child and when I'm with someone refuse to talk to me and direct all their questions to the person I'm with. People frequently assume disabled means you have to be incapable of independence. 2/??

Rant time bc this shits been pissing me off more than normal recently.
I am a part time wheelchair user, I've been using a chair on and off for the past ~6-7yrs. And the difference on how I'm treated when I'm in my chair vs out, even when I'm using another mobility aid is just unbelievable.

I was in my chair at the self check out line on Tuesday and the employee guy walks over, leans over me while I'm typing my phone number in to press the "accessibility" button. Didn't ask or anything just came over and said "let me help you".. Like bro if I needed help I would have asked fuck offfff

It's offensive hearing Whitefolk (esp. those in power) say "this isn't America" because the rest of us know this as distinctly American.
