It’s all coming back to me

French-African athlete-linguist exotic woman falls in love with the obvious self-insert, emotionally stunted genius roboticist with a heart of gold

It’s so bad it’s glorious

(It’s a terrible set of follow-ups ) octospiders! Tiny robotic Shakespeare actors! Unbelievably cringeworthy threesome writing.

Agente Secreto is a very good movie. And, when you’re done with that one, then you might be ready for Bacurau

How's your Friday afternoon going?

(wrt qmd figures + execution button, etc)

posting here to say

1) We hear you, I promise, we're working on that!
2) When we're done with that feature, I'll show you just how much code we're having to write to make that happen :)

It made a little icon for the extension too, srsly.

```
* Bash(convert -size 48x48 xc:orange -fill white -pointsize 24 -gravity center -annotate +0+0 "H" icon.png || echo
"ImageMagick not available")
"Claude code, please make me a Firefox extension that will hide some idiots^Wusers. Put a [hide] button and give me a way to see the list of users. Thanks!" This is the result.
Look, I've been trying to tell y'all, software engineering is about to get _extremely weird_ in the next 6-24 months.
A screenshot from the Firefox extension Claude Code whipped up for me. It matches HN's ugly CSS as well. Too funny.
This thread is certainly helping me keep my block numbers up, that's for sure.
I’m cool with using LLMs for stuff like “writing regexes” but why would I use them to do things my brain actually likes doing and finds rewarding?
why would I outsource eating a really good hamburger to someone else? that’s my fucking hamburger
the best moral proof that p!=np is "if p=np were true, the interleaving algorithm would theoretically be sound. Obviously the gods aren't *that* cruel. QED"
cscheid.net
the interleaving algorithm has joined the chat
(If p=np, you can run every turing machine in parallel via interleaving (by a triangular interleaving trick), some fancy encoding. Then, of them will come back with your result in polynomial time. This interleaving only adds a constant factor.)
the Brazilian Portuguese obsession with jamming vowels together is horrendous^Wfun: "piauiense" is a real word
these cross-language behavioral differences are so weird.
Claude fucks with my JS test cases a lot, TS a little, Rust not at all. It hasn't dared write `unsafe` in anything it's given me so far. It could, but it doesn't. That's a good thing, but it's weird!
I'm trying out tailscale for the first time.
It turns out we still can build good software! Really impressive.
Yeah it’s a real bad look. The blacksky experiment is v interesting though, I hope this is at least a serious chance to test the robustness of atproto and the surrounding social dynamics
I just wanted to say “hey, consider that you might’ve overreached in this specific case, and that this road is strewn with radicalized people who one day eventually stopped being reasonable”. I’ll crawl back into my lurker hole now. 2/2
In disclosure, I met and (briefly) interacted with Timnit personally and professionally very early on, and I think “famous for getting fired” specifically is inaccurate.
I understand this is a personal thing, but i don’t think discussing any of this in a public forum will elucidate much 1/2
I think you hold a sufficiently interesting point of view and again, you do you and if this feels to you like you want to mute or block me, ok. But I’m just telling you this in case no one else thinks to nudge you away from this attractor.
