Allegedly the shipper in my case kept sending the same information, which UPS (customs) needed the HTS number aka harmonized code. Afaik UPS made no attempt to actually explain what that was or help. The shit thing is if this was the end item code... UPS KNEW WHAT IT FUCKING NEEDED TO BE

Also a massive problem with this, UPS DOES NOT make any attempt to contact the receiver to see if the receiver might be able to resolve this and even though they contact shippers 3 times... they DO NOT actually education anyone on what to do. WHICH IS THEIR FUCKING JOB AS THE BROKER.

Recently posted about this and it just fucking sucks on so many levels. In my case it was a custom iaito (unsharpened katana) that I ordered back in February... I was waiting 7 months only for this shit to happen. But also the company had already remade it and that;s why it was delayed.

About a month ago, the Trump administration got rid of the de minimis exemption, whereby packages valued under $800 could slide in without import duties. Now there's a backlog as the government can't process all of this paperwork, leading to UPS just destroying packages
