Well, I thought the sequel to Our Dining Table was only one volume, but apparently I was wrong, so maybe one day I’ll uncover the secret of Yutaka’s stupidly expensive glasses in an afterword

Part of me is like, maybe an extra zero got added along the way somewhere, but that doesn’t work with the characters’ reaction, so maybe these are just the most expensive frames in the known universe

I too have astigmatism and that’s ten times the cost of the glasses I have on right now, even with the more expensive lenses I have to get for my strong prescription

I saw an infographic from ChilChil the other day that was other kinds of bl -verses and I am resigned to the fact that one day I'll stumble across a ton of people begging for, idk, steakverse bl that'll be some weird thing about some people being steak and some people being steak sauce

I have now watched the new Trigun trailer twice and I am gloriously happy to know neither the manga nor more than 1.5 episodes of the original anime, bc I can simply look forward to cool-looking action bits and gruff Hosoyan voice

For the intended demographic, I think it’s a good thing. There should be more gay romances for all, tropes that bore me and all. But I am wary of adults who won’t engage with bl from bl mags but will act like cookie-cutter titles aimed at younger audiences are somehow exceptional

If it’s more shoujo fans, then I could definitely see where I wouldn’t run across them talking it up. I’m always behind with popular bl titles but I do follow some bl mags and usually see covers if nothing else, but not so much with shoujo mags

It also doesn’t seem to run in a bl magazine in Japan, so I imagine that would not help attract much attention to it

It looks like a title that was assembled by drawing tropes out of a hat, so maybe it was more of a metatextual line. Eagerly awaited because it was assembled like legos for the purpose of publication

In one of their new license announcements today, Kodansha included the line “the eagerly awaited bl is here!” and not only have I not heard of it, I haven’t heard of the mangaka and the art doesn’t look familiar at all. Please tell me I’m not that out of touch (I am absolutely out of touch)

Eventually you'll know the time is right, I think, but impulsively right after vacations is often not the right time, I feel 😆. I finally had to make a "no major life changes in January" rule myself bc Christmas breaks mess w me and I never want to do anything afterwards
